Hii, how are you? Hope you’re doing good!
Again from Artspace. Lately, I’ve been thinking about making something with data or on-the-ground interviews, but I have other options to make cases in my head alive. Rather than make it with serious data or a straight interview, I want to make it soft with dialogue and plot, here in Artspace mode. I wish to do other case studies or self-investigation topics before this year ends, but first, let’s explore this Artspace mode.
Today let’s talk about how should we spend the rest of our lives.
Peter just came home after his long day on a stressful Monday. Brigita couldn’t resist her soft voice to greet his husband, “hii handsome. how’s your day? Mine was tough, but I was so happy for the lunch you sent me.” and she poured tons of kisses onto his face. He chuckled a little bit, and grabbed Brigita’s waist, “Mine was rough too, and to see your smile tonight has fixed all the holes in me. How’s the lunch? Was it good?” Peter asked her as he put down Brigita a little bit on the sofa.
“I like it as much as I want to finish it with you. What holes are you talking about?” Brigita started the conversation as she held her cup of tea. “I need my mom, sometimes. I miss her, life without my mother is miserable. I know, I have you by my side. The feeling in me was trying to grab someone’s attention but I just couldn’t. Oh to imagine growing old without a mother.” Peter sighed deeply. Brigita was left speechless, Peter’s mother just passed away a few weeks ago. His sorrow still lives inside of his heart, with all the mangled thoughts and unending scenarios of “If only I..” Brigitas felt sorry and patted his shoulder, trying to give the best hug for this man. “You must feel sad right now.” Brigita put her head on his shoulder.
Silence filled the sorrowful moment between them.
“My boss signed me to another country.” Peter tightened his hold for Brigita’s hug. “I knew it was coming, Peter. Let me go.” Brigita pulled herself away. “No, please, hold me Brigita. Let’s talk about this.” Brigita slowly loosened her hug and chose to stay. “Which country?” ”UK, to London.”
Brigita sighed and put her head down.
“I know and I totally understand how do you feel brigi-”
“Just go, Peter. That’s your dream, chase it. I’ll fully support you from here.”
“No, please, come with me. We’re gonna figure-”
“And I have to leave all the good things I have made here? My career, my social network, my friendship, my family? I’ll be unemployed and left with no acquaintances. And to live with such a world, I couldn’t do it, Peter. My dream is here and yours is there.”
“But, to be always together is one of our vows in our marriage moment. I can’t do this without you and I can’t imagine leaving you here by yourself. We can do it from scratch, just like in the old days. That’s gonna be our way to spend our lives, I know it sounds naive and full of optimism, but I know, we can do it, but as long as we’re together, Brigita.” Peter enticed her with holding her hands together.
“We can spend the whole day to find classic coffee, we’re going to get you a job, we’re going to join certain clubs, book clubs, run clubs, just so you don’t feel alone in other’s country. Promise we’ll do it together.” ”and to spend the rest of our lives with our love ones, finding joy in every adventure, doesn’t it warm your heart, Brigita? I know you’re an adventure!” Peter still with his full energy tried to give the best answer for Brigita’s worry.
“Peter, we can just book flight and have a long holiday there. It doesn’t mean we have to live there and start somewhere from zero again. What does work mean if we have to leave all good things we have behind?”
“And even Abraham left every good thing he had to follow God’s plan. Sometimes, it’s not the work, it’s the calling we have inside our hearts.” Peter replied.
“Among all the choices we have, should we move abroad and re-start everything again?”
“Sometimes, that’s the best way to reimagine the life we wanted. Probably we’ll have the scattered dream from our childhood and collect all the dust we have. we can do this, Brigita.”
Peter gently held her hand, “Then we’ll figure it out together, like we always do. Nothing has to be perfect, and it won’t be easy. But we’ll have each other. Isn’t that what matters the most?”
She stayed silent for a moment, her heart heavy with the decision ahead. Finally, she leaned in and kissed him softly. “Let me think about it,” she whispered, “I need time.”
Peter nodded, pulling her into a close embrace. “Take all the time you need. I’m not going anywhere without you.”
They sat there, holding onto each other as the weight of their choices hung in the air. For now, it was enough just to be together.
Thank you for reading. I appreciate it.
